INTERPRETATION
On-site and Distance
Interpretation services will be arranged on-site whenever possible. Distance interpretation services are offered when circumstances such as public health regulations prohibit in-person gatherings. I have extensive experience using Kudo, VoiceBoxer, Interprefy and Zoom and can easily adapt to other platforms your company may be using.
Modes
I provide simultaneous interpretation from a booth, using an infoport system (mobile receivers) and in the whispered mode.
I provide consecutive interpretation for speeches and presentations (long consecutive using note-taking) and to facilitate communication between parties at meetings, hearings and appointments (short consecutive or liaison interpreting, with or without notes).
Settings
Conference interpretation is an umbrella term used to describe the interpreting that is done at a wide variety of events including congresses, press conferences, business meetings, training sessions and visits from delegations. I have the skills and training required to adapt my services to the situation at hand.
I am also trained as a court interpreter. The particular knowledge, vocabulary, ethics and techniques acquired through this training are of course applicable to the law office setting as well.
Healthcare interpreting is the third major setting and one in which I also have extensive training. This goes far beyond building knowledge of medical terminology to include developing skills for mediation and dealing with ethical dilemmas and adapting techniques depending on the field of medicine and the patient.
